Even smooth and somewhat sweet.

What I love about this bourbon is that it doesn't attempt to be a Yamazaki single malt. I will in general partner the Yamazaki assortments with flavors and scents of pre-winter - strong matured overripe organic products joined with oak and flavors regularly appreciated during that season. Not the Hibiki 17. The Hibiki is particularly from another season through and through. Nectar. Blossoms. A more youthful lighter greener products of the soil. Kindly don't believe this differentiation to be an impairment. The flavors are organized equally and effortlessly so the general experience is as enhancing and agreeable as a stroll through a blooming plantation on a late April evening.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Quite full. There are notes of honey and wax, resin and oak. There are notes of gentle smoke and cacao, hints of cooked fruit and a nutty note.

Taste

Sweet and rich. There are crisp notes of mixed peels, raisin and custard with a little zest and plenty of oak.

Finish

Long with notes of oak and cocoa and sherried peels.
